Founded in 2025, Wichcraft Glass is the result of Evelyn Wichitchu’s many years of glassblowing experience. A play on words between her last name "Wichitchu" and the word "craft", Wichcraft Glass embodies Evelyn’s dedication to the centuries-old tradition of glassblowing and the relentless pursuit of skilled craftsmanship. She pays homage to  beauty and precision through her refinement of form. Evelyn approaches traditional glassblowing as a language, with each movement and technique forming part of a unique vocabulary that allows her to find her own voice within the medium. By weaving together these techniques, Evelyn aims to create pieces that honor this craft’s rich heritage while simultaneously expressing her perspective on the art form. Wichcraft Glass is a reflection of the past that also speaks to Evelyn’s personal exploration and vision in glass.

Before starting Wichcraft Glass, Evelyn visited the birthplace of Venetian-style glassblowing on the island of Murano and found herself in awe of the masters that she saw. She drew inspiration from Muranese masters and studied at the Rhode Island School of Design before continuing her education at the Appalachian Center for Craft. Evelyn spent time honing her skills by studying with renowned glassblowers such as Bill Gudenrath, James Mongrain, and Michael Schunke, among others. Over the past years, she has distilled the knowledge gained from these glassblowers into her own style of glassmaking that respects and reveres the ancient tradition of glassblowing.
